Why: FCA's goal is to support you in navigating today's challenges while
growing your faith and personal relationships. Get your bellies and
spiritual tanks filled each week.

Attention La Junta High School JV Football players and parents: The JV football game vs. McClave on September 7th has been moved to Saturday, September 28th at 11 a.m. at Tiger Stadium.

La Junta Primary School students and their families are invited to our Ice Cream Social. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, August 28th from 4:20PM - 6:00PM. Families will enter through the School's main entrance (off of Belmont/East side of school) and head to the cafeteria. See you there!
Tiger Trades Academy 4H had a busy summer.
Analee Valverde, Anabell Valverde, Patrice Nolan, Estafana Camacho, Nyasia Aragon, and Jadiekia Valenzuela attended the State 4H conference in Fort Collins. They competed in the Family Consumer Science Skill A-Thon placing 3rd.
Analee Valverde, Jadiekia Valenzuela, Anabell Valverde, and Anamarie Valverde participated in the Creative Cooks Contest in Eads. They received Champion and qualified to participate in the State Fair.
Estafana Camacho and Qorianna Mascarenas-Rocha participated in Cake Decorating. They received Champion and qualified to participate in the State Fair.
Tiger Trade 4-H results from Arkansas Valley Fair:
Analee Valverde received Grand Champion and Classs Champion in Home Decor. She also received Champion in Visual Arts. She qualified for the State Fair in both of her events.
Anamarie Valverde placed 2nd in Gardening.
Anabell Valverde placed 3rd in Food & Nutrition.
Estafana Camacho placed 3rd Food & Nutrition. She also competed in Cake Decorating, earning Reserve Grand Champion & Class Champion, qualifying her for the State Fair.
Jadiekia Valvenzuela participated in three events. She received champion Fashion Review. She earned Class Champion in Artistic Clothing. She also earned 3rd place in Home Decor. She qualified for the State Fair in both Fashion Review and Artistic Clothing.
Patrice Nolan placed 2nd in Home Decor.
Emiliana Nolan placed 3rd in Gardening.
Qoraianna Mascarenas-Rocha received Class Champion in Decorating, qualifying her for the State Fair.
Colorado State Fair Results:
Jadiekia Valvenzuela received a Specialty Award at the State Fair Fashion Review. She received best street attire. For Artistic Clothing, she placed 7th.
Estafana Camacho placed 2nd in Cake Decorating.
Analee Valverde placed 10th in Visual Arts.

Attention La Junta Jr High Football parents. There will be a brief informational parent meeting on Monday, August 12th at 5:15 pm in the middle bleacher section of Tiger Stadium. This short informational meeting will include: rules/expectations, game schedule, practice schedule, introduction of coaching staff and student/athlete requirements. This should only take a brief amount of your time. We look forward to seeing you all there. Please ensure that your student/athlete has a completed athletic physical form and also completed the online family id as well, both of which can be turned into the school office Monday morning.
La Junta Jr/Sr High School 7th Grade Orientation.
LJPS In-Person Registration. All Parents/Guardians need to attend! Students can bring their school supplies and meet there teachers while you are here.
ATTENTION JR HIGH FOOTBALL STUDENT/ATHLETES:
First day of jr. high team practice will be Thursday, August 8th at 3:00 pm. Be dressed in t-shirt, shorts and helmet and READY TO GO AT 3:00 p.m., we will be meeting in the jr high locker room to begin practice. Have your football cleats in hand and ready to put on. We DO NOT wear our cleats in the locker room or gym, you will put them on once you are outside the building.
Uniform and equipment checkout will be conducted August 5th-7th at 5:00 pm immediately following the end of the high school football mini-camp. We will meet in the jr. high football locker room Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of that week from 5:00-6:00 pm to ensure all student/athletes receive their equipment. You will be getting your helmets, shoulder pads, pants, practice jerseys and lockers on these days.
YOU CAN ONLY PARTICIPATE IN PRACTICE if you have both your current athletic physical and information completed on familyid.com. Turn these in to either Mrs. Good in the office or Coach Schmidt.
